Club Meeting 24/8/26

Aug 25
1 min read

We had a fun evening at the Old Down Inn, when 11 of us turned up, most bearing something unusual. These ranged from Eric's glue pot, through Ken's unusual micrometer, to Liz's tramrail finder (don't ask!).

One non-member turned up with what appeared to be a home-made "priest", and he kept us enthralled for some time with tales of Glencot House and squirrels. Other exhibits were an almost-complete Edison phonograph mechanism, a parting tool holder, a set of grinding wheel truing rollers and a tool for marking sheet flooring. Very few were accurately identified but the conversation made it worthwhile.

The next club event is Clive's start-up day, to be held at Bradford Leigh on the 12th September, starting at 10 O'clock, and including Eric's BBQ hot dogs. September's club meeting on 28th September will be a table-top auction, so gather together your unwanted small items and get ready to score some beer money.
